I have my running number and a date with destiny.

It really is getting close now with only 2 weeks to the Reading half marathon, which is appropriately on April fools day and my running number at Reading is 5073
2 weeks after the Brighton and the wind down begins, if I'm still alive, with my old favourite 10K [only 6.25 miles] the Clandon Park run witch starts from George Abbot school Burpham and its only on MY BIRTHDAY so might have to have some cake afterwards....... Then a month later the final run will be the London Bupa 10K, on May 27th, around the best section of the London marathon course and that's it finito, the end, no more, let the belly grow!!
I have learnt this year that I should have been doing this years ago because now my legs don't like it which is so frustrating but there you go, I'm past it and I recognise that, fitness is definitely wasted on the youth.

I took a rest this week, due to fact I'm knackered, so on Tuesday it was an hour work out on the cross trainer, well a change is as good as a rest.
Come Thursday I couldn't do it at all and was persuaded to instead miss training for one night and prepare my mate Colins' house for his return from honeymoon with his beautiful wife Sabina. Some of it he liked, then some of it he didn't, I don't know you just can't please some people. HaHa - I didn't do the bit he didn't like, clear conscious me.

Very pleased to see Nigel and Sarah on Thursday evening and get an update on his poor OLD knee, an op is on the cards soon we hope and then he will be able to beat me again.

I picked up my 'nother pair' of new trainers on Saturday, [blooming attachments that go into them I need renewing] and planned my long run for Sunday.
Up at 6.30 for a healthy porridge and granola breakfast and then wish I could go back to bed. A decent pause to let the belly digest away and off out at 8.30 into the beautiful sunny morning air. Very steady pace and all strapped up I took in my old half marathon training route out to Brookwood, Pirbright, Guildford and back to Woking. Then it was along Hook heath borders down to St.Johns Canal, up to Brookwood again and along to Knaphill and back home. A route I was sure would be 20 miles but the scattylites tell me otherwise and state a modest 18.5.[I've told you about the importance of halves before]

Well it wore me out I don't know about you.

An invition from Maribell this week to join the runners for this years London and Brighton marathon for a get together in Tooting. Looking forward to meeting the other runners and hearing how everyone is getting along  - a big thankyou to Maribell for this opportunity as I doubt if I'll be able to chat much after the event due to the oxygen mask.  [Don't panic]

Well done to the McLaren team for the job done in Austaralia today

This weeks tune is a big one from 1974 , Its none other than
Messers BACHMAN TURNER AND OVERDIVE and YOU AINT SEEN NOTHING YET

   You ain't seen nothin' yet
Baby, you just ain't seen nothin' yet
Here's something, here's something,
here's something, mama, you're never gonna forget
B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen nu-nu-nu-nothin' yet
You ain't been around

 See you all next week,
